Privacy & data controls
MoneyQuilt holds sensitive numbers, so you should be able to see exactly what happens to them — and take it all back whenever you want. Here's what you control, and how.
Your account starts empty
No demo transactions, no sample budgets, no other people's numbers. The dashboard stays blank until you enter or import something yourself.
Nothing is shared between accounts
Every row in the database is tied to your user ID and protected by row-level security policies, so one account can never read another's data.
Never sold, never advertised against
We don't sell data, don't share it with advertisers, and don't use your financial records to build profiles. Connected banks and inboxes store credentials encrypted.
Your controls, step by step
Export everything
- Sign in and open Settings → Account & data.
- Choose Export my data.
- A JSON file downloads with every record on your account: transactions, bills, debts, budgets, accounts, work sessions and business records.
Disconnect a bank or Gmail inbox
- Open Settings → Account & data → Connections.
- Select the bank or inbox you want to remove and choose Disconnect.
- Access tokens are deleted immediately and no further statements are read.
Reset a workspace
- Open Settings → Account & data.
- Choose Reset personal workspace or Reset business workspace.
- The records in that workspace are cleared while your login stays intact — useful for starting fresh with real numbers.
Delete your account
- Open Settings → Account & data.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
- Your login and all associated records are permanently removed from production systems. Residual backup copies age out on the normal backup cycle.
What we actually store
- Your email address, plus basic profile details if you sign in with Google.
- The financial records you enter or import: transactions, bills, debts, budgets, goals, accounts and work sessions.
- Balances and transactions from a bank you explicitly connect, and statement attachments from an inbox you explicitly connect.
- Standard security logs such as IP address and timestamps.
The full legal detail lives in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Start with a blank slate
No sample data, no lock-in. Add your real numbers, and take them with you whenever you like.
