Privacy Policy

MoneyQuilt ("we", "us") provides a personal and small-business money tracking application. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google returns.
Financial information you enter or import. Transactions, income, bills, debts, budgets, savings goals, accounts, card balances and limits, work sessions, and — if you use business mode — clients, invoices, expenses, products and payroll records.
Connected sources. If you connect a bank via our banking partner, we receive account balances and transactions. If you connect a Gmail inbox, we access only messages that match statement senders and subject keywords, in order to extract statement attachments. We do not read unrelated mail, and we never send, modify or delete messages.
Technical information. Standard log data such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, used for security and diagnostics.
2. How we use your information
We use your data to operate the service: to display your dashboard, categorise transactions, detect recurring charges and instalment plans, calculate credit utilisation and payoff projections, generate reports and exports, and send the reminders you enable.
We do not sell your personal or financial data. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your financial records to build advertising profiles.
3. Automated processing and AI
Uploaded statements and imported transactions may be processed by automated systems, including AI models, to extract line items and suggest categories. These suggestions are shown to you for review before anything is saved. Content sent for processing is not used to train third-party models.
4. Service providers
We rely on a small number of processors to run the service: cloud hosting and database infrastructure, authentication, a bank-connection provider, an email provider, and AI processing for statement parsing. Each receives only what is needed to perform its function and is bound by contract to protect it.
5. Storage, security and retention
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled databases. Records are scoped to your account so that other users cannot read them. Access credentials for connected banks and inboxes are stored encrypted.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your records are removed from our production systems; residual copies in backups age out on the normal backup cycle.
6. Your rights and controls
From Settings → Account & data in the app you can, at any time:
- Download a complete copy of your data as a JSON file.
- Disconnect any linked bank or Gmail account.
- Reset your personal workspace or any business workspace.
- Permanently delete your account and all associated records.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, port or restrict processing of your data. The controls above cover most of these directly; for anything else, contact us.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage only for essential functionality: keeping you signed in, remembering your workspace and display preferences, and holding data entered in guest mode on your own device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
8. Children
MoneyQuilt is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
10. Contact
